Attention all Book Lovers

A couple of weeks ago I was told about a UK website that sells books a lot cheaper than in Australia. You say... great but the postage will be more than the books. Well, wait PRESS.... postage WORLDWIDE is FREE.
The difference in prices is amazing! I purchased one book worth $55 AUD here and paid only $26 AUD through the web site. That is unthinkable the markup that Australia puts on our books. I received my order today after 10 days. I will have a lovely relaxing evening browsing at the books. They were each individually boxed too!

Disney Cruise'

Was surfing the web the other day and came across a Disney Cruise liner. I can't believe that they have their own cruise ships. How amazing would that be??

Just taking the kids to Disneyland/ Disney World would be awesome and seeing the look of excitement on their faces at they walk around and see the sights. My face would probably be the same.... keep dreaming for a while, but hey, no harm in dreaming.

Another team effort!

Tamika has had a great year of school sporting events. I am so proud of her! As a child I would never have entered myself in as many activities as she has this year. My mum and dad were lucky if I just did the choir, (we purchased 7 extra curricular photos this year of Tamika).  Tamika's European Handball made the grand finals for school. Again, lucky for me these were played in the afternoon after school.

I have watched the students at school play this during school sport so knew that it was a cross between basketball and soccer. But by joe, I can't believe how cramped the game is. The players don't seem to have places that they have to stand and can ALL crowd around the person with the ball. To me, I would think it was a helpless cause to even try to get a goal. ANyway, they all played well and fast but were unfortunately missing two of their best players, so lost the game to the other team.

Logan's excitement

I arrived at mum's one day after work last week to pick up the kids when I was greeted by a VERY excited Logan. His name was in a special paper for the Premier's Reading Challenge. He had found when his and Tamika's name was and memorised the page. He was able to take me straight there. Tamika didn't think much of it as she has had her name in it every year since starting school.

Santa 2010

That time of year again... Boy, has it come around so quickly. I have a feeling that this may the last time we have Tamika with Santa as she was a bit embarrassed and would only do it when no one else was around. As we keep telling her, you don't believe, he doesn't come.

It will be sad when the day comes..

Been a while... we are still alive.

Well, its been a while since I had a chance to sit and browse the internet let alone blog. It is the time of year that teachers dread.... reports. The one thing I am thankful for is that my school decided to try out a new reporting system, it has saved so much time as the template was a lot easier to use.

I am glad that they are finished and now we just have the school Christmas events, Presentation Day and the dreaded classroom moving day (though I do hope that I am placed in a much better room, with an interactive whiteboard, but I had better wait and see before I get excited).

Barrenjoey Lighthouse walk

Our first weekend in months where Matt was home and I didn't have school reports to write, so we took off to Palm Beach. We had wanted to do the short Lighthouse walk for a few years, since Tamika and Logan were eager we decided this was the time. It was a wonderful warm spring day but still not warm enough for me to swim in the ocean.

The walk was easy all up hill with LOTS of stairs. The view was amazing! Imagine living in a place with views like this.. spectacular! Once we got to the top we could actually see the hotel Mantra at Ettalong Beach that we stayed at last month. It stands out a mile away.

This was our second attempt at this photo, once Matt set the camera up on a rock he then walked up to us and without thinking stood straight in front of Tamika. It was quite funny!

 This is the boat shed for the Australian TV series - Home & Away.  Out the front of it was extremely busy.

 The lighthouse keeper was struck by lightning and killed in 1881 when he went out to get wood for the fireplace.

After the walk to the Lighthouse a well earned cool down at Palm Beach. The water was way to cold for Matt and I. Matt worked on his tan, while I watched the kids.  This is the first year that Logan has become quite game in the water, catching waves and not even worrying when it splashed in his eyes and mouth.  We played Vortex on the sand for a while then headed home before the Sunday afternoon traffic.

Do I share my weight loss journey???

As some of you may already know, after our return trip from Fiji in October 2009 I decided that life had gotten the better of my body and that it was time to take control and do something about it. I won't lie it hasn't been easier trying to fit everything into my already full days, especially exercise. I never was a sporty person, the only sport I really liked growing up was swimming and walking.

I picked up a copy of the Weight Watchers magazine and as I flipped through it I saw an article of a lady that I use to work with who is the same age as me.  She looked absolutely stunning, tall and slender. Instantly I knew that was what I wanted and that I had to do (well not the tall and slender, that will never happen). Anyway, I started Weight Watchers but not as a member myself. Matt joined up on line, there was no use the both of us signing up and wasting so much money. I did all the organising of food, shopping and tracking. Now a year later I have shed 30kg. I feel so much better and am starting to like the way I look.

At this point in time I am trying to decide whether to enter a competition in the current Weight Watchers magazine. After reading someone else's story and seeing the effect it had on me and how it turned my life around, do I put myself out there and enter my story. I mean there is no way that I will win but people keep saying you have to be in it to win it. Though, I would really like to know that I have changed someones life by sharing my FAT stage and how I let myself go and have slowly picked myself up.

Melbourne Cup day at work

This year at work a few of the staff decided it would be fun to dress up for Melbourne Cup Day. The theme being the same as at the races- Black and White. 

So i went in search of a dress fit to wear along with a fascinator ( but it was a mini hat). It felt a bit strange going to work all dressed up and really no place to go.
