Chritmas Holiday Activitives

These Summer Holidays were the first in a long time that we were at home for the entire time. We tried to keep busy.

Before Christmas we had a couple of  family events when family came down to visit from Mooloolaba QLD.

We managed a visit to Luna Park in Sydney. Tamika had been there a few times with her cousins but this was the first time we all ventured inside for some fun. I couldn't believe just how expensive this place was. The kids, Matt and Chris went for tickets to Coney Island. This kids were happy just to  check this place out (we promised to go back and do some of the other when we saved up some money - a rip off).

Logan was petrifed of the massive slides yet Tamika LOVED them.
On this  same day we head lunch for Chris'  30th birthday in a small restuarant called "Ripples"  under the Harbour Bridge. The food was glorious and the staff so attentive and friendly (especially since when we got there Logan started to be tummy sick). They bought him tea and then told us to let him lay down beside us. He slept for most of lunch and then perked up as we where leaving.

During the extremely hot and humid summer holidays we visited a few beaches such as  Manly, The Entrance beach, Toowoon Bay and Blue Bay.  Blue Bay is suppose to be gorgeous for snorkelling (didn't get a chance to check it out as every time we went there it ended up raining. Tamika and Logan love the water and the playing around deep into the sand.  They both spent some time checking out their christmas presnts (snorkel sets, boggie boards).

Tall Ship Dinner Cruise - Sydney

For our birthday's and Christmas present we were given a voucher for a  tallship dinner cruise in the city (it also came along with pre- organised babysitting, which was a bonus!)
Seeing as we both wanted to  see the sunsetting and expereince it while Daylight Saving was on we decided to book it for our 12th Wedding Anniversary in January.
It turned out to be a hot day but we took advantage of not having children with us spent the day shopping and walking around the city. Over the entire weekend we walked 25km and from one end of the city to the other.

We could not believe how many people they had for dinner on this Tall ship, we thought maybe 30 but NO there was at least one hundred people that sat on every available space on the deck. The views were amazing and a fantastic breeze blew once we got out onto the Harbour. Sydney has the most amazing harbour (not that I have really been anywhere else in the world to compare it too!) It was quiet funny to see four tourists miss the boat so they then had to get a water taxi out and meet us in the middle of the Harbour and then climb on board - one even had enormous high-heels on, which she had to take off and go bare footed for the rest of the night.
Once the ship motored out passed Mosman the engines were turned off, the sails opened up and dinner was served. We ate a pleasant BBQ while we sailed back to Circular Quay.

Night time around the city is great for photographers but there are alot of crazy people about.
That days breakfast used alot of willpower to get through (buffet breakfasts aren't good for people who have changed their eating habits). We spent more money the next day shopping and then headed back home to reality.
As much as we love our kids it was great to spend time together and be able to do what we liked and be able to share a conversation. A nice weekend had by all, except maybe our bank balance :-).
